USRRC Day 3 – The Barlow Trail
Nov
2008
After a tough course rally, we were ready for the touring rally, the Barlow Trail. It was a straightforward rally using CZTs. The course followed wet, winding, country roads southeast of Portland. The autumn color was at its peak. No traps, just stay on time and enjoy the scenery. The end of the rally was at the Multnomah Falls Lodge.
We finished 7th for day 3. We tied for 6th overall in the equipped class. Brandon Harer and Marcus Song won all 3 days and overall!
Would we do it again, if held in Portland? Absolutely! We’d even consider the possibility of traveling if it were held on the west coast.

Barlow Trail was a classic Poirier touring rally: never any worries about the route, and no checkpoints in zero-zero (unachievable; zero chance of a zero) locations. After the head cracking GTA and NCR, the tour was sweet relief.
