The joy, my new winter tires arrived yesterday. Six fuzzy new Nokian Hakkapeliitta 2 tires. These may not look like much but Nokian tires are what keep much of the Alcan Winter Rally on the road. I downsized this time, from 195/70-14 to a 185/70-14. I like a taller tire in the winter but the 185 profile was available factory studded with Nokian eco-studs. In any case, this is still a larger diameter tire than stock for my BMW 325iX.
These babies came from Meadow Creek Tire Warehouse in Colorado. This is the second set sourced from Meadow Creek and they know their Nokian tires. Ordering was easy and delivery very quick. Even with expense of shipping they came in right at $90 per tire. But really, they’re a required piece of equipment and valuable at any price.
I can’t wait to try them on!

Sounds like you’re getting the bimmer ready to go. Want to wish you and the rest of TeamD the best of luck on the Alcan. I’m jealous I can’t go.
